Analyst finds eight universities control 60 per cent of academic research budget

Research outputs from Australian universities have remained high, with the Group of Eight universities “dominating” the country’s research landscape, a report has found.

In his latest Mapping Australian Higher Education report, released on 12 October, leading education analyst Andrew Norton (pictured) said that research outputs from Australian universities are showing “no downward trend” and the Go8 universities employed around half of university researchers.
