Vice-chancellor selection processes ‘racist’, study finds

Sydney researchers say “racism against non-Europeans is extreme” in senior university appointments

A University of Sydney study has alleged that the procedures for appointments of vice-chancellors in Australia are “extremely racist”.

The paper, published in the journal Plos One on 13 March, found that it was extremely unlikely that the current mix of people with European and non-European backgrounds holding vice-chancellorships arose from fair processes.
