Australian ministers announce new rules around pay and diversity in response to Universities Accord report

Australian universities are to get new rules for their governing councils, and pay scales will need to be publicly justified.

The decision was announced after a regular meeting of state and territory education ministers with federal education minister Jason Clare on 26 April. The ministers said it was a response to “priority action five”, around governance, of the interim report of the Universities Accord review panel.
