Government doubles Scholarship Fund to £300m, sort of

The draft guidance to the Office for Fair Access on the new ”Access Agreements” it is to agree with universities wanting to charge over £6,000 in fees says there will be a “required commitment to participate in the new national scholarships programme, with bids match funded from within a university’s own resources”.

In other words, universities will have to match the governments £150 million for the Scholarship Fund with £150m of their own.
