Israel to host Galileo ground station

Israel is to host a Galileo satellite receiving station, after the signing of an agreement on improving EU-Israeli collaboration on space and tourism in Tel Aviv on 3 November.

The deal expands R&D collaboration agreements to include space, and therefore Galileo, the EU satellite navigation project. Having a ground receiving station will allow Israel to receive signals from Galileo and make use of the service.
