MEPs agree to speed up release of EU regional funds to neediest countries

MEPs have agreed to speed up the release of EU regional development funds in six countries hit by the crisis.

Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Latvia and Hungary could pay only five per cent of some projects’ costs, as the European Commission offered to raise its maximum contribution to 95 instead of 85 per cent.
