Vatican Bank permitted to rescue bankrupt institute

An Italian court has approved the Vatican Bank’s plans to rescue the bankrupt San Raffaele Institute in Milan, ScienceInsider reports.

The San Raffaele Scientific Institute, which includes a 1,400-bed research hospital, a centre for biomedical research and a university, has run debts worth about €1.5 billion.
