Belgian government sworn in after 18-month stalemate

Socialist leader Elio Di Rupo became Belgian prime minister on 6 December after a long political deadlock, European Voice reports.

The prime minister, 12 ministers and six state-secretaries were sworn in by King Albert II after 541 days without a federal government.
