Chinese patent translation agreed

The European and Chinese patent offices are to cooperate on improving automated translation for patent documents, under an agreement signed on 29 November in Chongqing, China. “Both offices agreed to work together to assure that by next year automatic Chinese-English machine translation tools for patents are available to the public,” the European Patent Office said in a statement. “The service will be free of charge and easily accessible through the internet.”
