The European Commission has doubled its grants for students and staff from ‘Arab Spring’ countries to study or teach in the EU.
In addition to 525 grants planned for 2011-12 as part of the Erasmus Mundus exchange scheme, the Commission has allocated funding for another 559 scholarships for southern Mediterranean countries.
