€7 billion for Galileo
The European Commission proposes to spend €7 billion under the next EU multi-annual financial framework to complete its satellite navigation project. Galileo has been allocated around €3.4bn in the 2007-13 EU budget—it’s original price tag for deployment. However, in March, the Commission admitted that to be fully deployed Galileo needed an extra €1.4bn between 2014 and 2020, in addition to a planned €5.6bn for management costs.
