Members of the European Parliament have rejected a European Commission proposal to fund the Earth observation satellite programme GMES through an intergovernmental agreement outside the EU budget.
The European Parliament’s committee responsible for industry, energy and research unanimously opposed the Commission’s suggestion in a resolution passed on 20 December.
