Horizon 2020 will be more inclusive, says commissioner

The follow-up to Framework 7 must include a broader range of participants to better tap into Europe’s talent pool, according to the research commissioner, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn.

The proposed Horizon 2020 funding programme is intended to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of EU research, with the aim of attracting a larger number of participants, Geoghegan-Quinn said in a speech to research ministers. The programme will also harmonise with other EU funding programmes, allowing for more crossover, she said.
