Safety of chemical mixtures under the microscope

The European Commission’s directorate general for health has launched an investigation into the safety of chemical mixtures.

Through three of its main scientific advisory bodies, it is undertaking a consultation leading to a preliminary scientific opinion on the toxicity and assessment of compounds used in combination rather than as single products, which is the normal basis for a safety assessment.
