Solvay allowed to buy French chemical company Rhodia

The European Commission has allowed Belgian chemical group Solvay to buy French chemicals company Rhodia.

The Commission concluded on 5 August that the acquisition was acceptable because several credible competitors will remain active on the merged company’s markets.
