Radio telescope network goes live

The third generation of a network of Europe’s radio telescopes, RadioNet 3, went live on 1 January, the European Southern Observatory has announced.

The project has been enabled by a €9.5 million grant from the European Commission, and will give its 24 European partner institutions full access to 18 existing radio astronomy facilities in Europe, as well as ESO’s telescopes in Chile.
