Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, Germany’s ex-defence minister who left his post after his PhD thesis was found to contain widespread plagiarism, has said he is keen on a come-back to national politics, the Süddeutsche reports.
The paper claims zu Guttenberg has signalled his plan to stand for elections again in his now-orphaned constituency of Kulmbach, Bavaria. According to the Süddeutsche, his request has been positively received by the ultra-conservative CSU, a division of the governing CDU party.
