Railway JTI gets on track as other industry projects face reshuffle

Horizon 2020 is likely to see the birth of a new Joint Technology Initiative on railway technology research, as a proposal from the railway industry is gaining ground.

Unife, a member organisation for the European railway industry, has created a detailed proposal for a JTI involving at least 19 member states, with a proposed industry commitment of €800 million to €1 billion. This money, provided as in-kind contributions, would be matched by the European Commission under JTI funding rules.
