Space awareness increases

Europeans have become more aware of the EU’s activities in space in the last five years and are generally positive about its applications. A Eurobarometer survey shows that 57 per cent of people have heard of the Galileo satellite system and 38 per cent are aware of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security programme. In 2007, the figures were 40 per cent and 22 per cent.
