The UK Prime Minister David Cameron has said he would veto the overall EU budget for 2014 to 2020 “if necessary”, on the first day of the Conservative Party conference in Britain.
Describing on-going negotiations on the next seven-year EU multifinancial framework (MFF), Cameron said in an interview with the BBC, “I sat round that table – 27 countries, 26 of them signing up to a treaty and I said, ‘This is not in Britain’s interests, I don’t care how much pressure you put on, I’m not signing.’” The comments were made on the Andrew Marr politics broadcast on 7 October.
