The European Parliament’s Committee for Industry, Research and Energy has approved draft legislation on high-speed broadband, which calls for greater investment and accelerated roll out of the technology to increase Europe’s economic competitiveness.
At a meeting on 5 November, the committee approved its report on telecommunications aspects of the Connecting Europe Facility, which sets specific targets for broadband services across Europe.
