The Spanish government has established a council to give advice on policymaking and funding for research, development, and innovation.
The council is to be made up of 14 members from the scientific and business communities, along with union representatives. The Spanish ministry of economy and competitiveness, which is also in charge of research, stipulated that two-thirds of the group be “prominent members of the scientific, technology, and innovation communities”. All members but one have been appointed so far.
