Cern strengthens relationship with United Nations

Cern, the Switzerland-based particle physics laboratory, has been granted observer status to the United Nations General Assembly.

The accession means Cern will be permitted to participate in the work of the general assembly and attend its sessions, which will allow the laboratory to work more closely with agencies such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco).
