Commission launches scientific board for development policy

The European Commission has set up a scientific advisory board for EU development policy.

Launched in Brussels on 15 February, the board comprises eight academics who will meet a couple of times a year to provide research-based policy advice. The board will discuss issues such as how to improve food security or how to ensure access to energy services for the poor.
