EU poverty scheme to include €97m for social innovation

The European Commission has proposed setting up a €958-million Programme for Social Change and Innovation against unemployment, exclusion and poverty.

The scheme will include €97m for “social innovation and experimentation”. This money should be used to fund small-scale tests of innovative policies, the Commission said. The most successful pilots could be up-scaled and funded by the European Social Fund.
