Commission wants to speed up decisions for medicine prices

The European Commission has proposed an EU law to speed up national decisions on the pricing and patient reimbursement of medicines.

Under the proposal, which was presented on 1 March, such decisions should be made within 120 days for novel medicines or 30 days for generic drugs, down from 180 days at present. The directive also foresees penalties for governments that don’t comply.
