Engineer named president of Swiss agency’s council

Martin Vetterli has been elected president of the Swiss National Science Foundation’s research council for 2013-16.

Vetterli, dean of the school of computer and communications sciences at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, was elected by the foundation council’s executive committee on 2 March.
