Pharma calls on governments for “fair drug prices”

The pharmaceutical industry has called on EU leaders to promote “more vigorous” industry and innovation policies, in particular regarding the pricing of drugs.

The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations sent a letter of demands to heads of state and governments ahead of the European Council meeting, to be held in Brussels on 28-29 June. In the letter Andrew Witty, president of Efpia, says the drug industry needs “fair prices” to reward innovation.
