The European Commission has proposed giving Sweden €4.3 million to help 700 workers to find jobs after they were made redundant by drug-maker AstraZeneca.
Sweden applied for support from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to offset 987 jobs that were lost when AstraZeneca closed its R&D sites in Lund and Umeå, and cut down its activities in Mölndal and Södertälje.
