Commission seeks views on entrepreneurship policies

The European Commission has opened a public consultation to gather ideas for its upcoming Entrepreneurship Action Plan.

The consultation aims to identify which policy measures could boost entrepreneurship in Europe in order to create jobs and help young companies grow.

The Commission says that Europeans’ “lack of entrepreneurial drive is not due to [their] overall dislike of entrepreneurship but rather the result of concrete structural, administrative and cultural factors that need to be tackled”. The Commission adds that entrepreneurship should be better promoted in schools and universities, as well as among specific groups including women, older citizens, migrants and members of ethnic minorities.

All citizens and organisations can submit ideas until 1 October. The Commission’s action plan will be launched in the autumn.
