Europe needs a monitoring system for research careers to make its science base less fragmented and more attractive to incomers, the European Commission has been told.
A European Monitoring System for the Research Profession should be created and used to harmonise career structures in member states and thus improve research careers in Europe overall, says the report, which was prepared by the European Research Area Board.
