Austria’s research council has called for an increase of the country’s research budget to fill a finance gap of €900 million euros by 2020, reports Der Standard.
The Rat für Forschung und Technologieentwicklung said Austria needs to drastically boost its research budget to meet its goal of spending 3.7 per cent of GDP on R&D by 2020. Such financing could also counter falling industry spending, the RFT said.
