The journal Nature should commission more women scientists to write in its News and Views section, Swedish researchers said in a letter published in the journal. According to the researchers, who analysed the gender distribution of authors of News and Views articles, the proportion of women commissioned for the section is significantly lower than the proportion of women scientists overall. The same is true of the Perspectives section of rival journal Science, they say.
