Polish professor to chair Cern council
The council of the Cern has elected Agnieszka Zalewska as its 21st president, it announced last week. Zalewska is a professor at the H. Niewodniczanski Institute of High Energy Physics in the Polish Academy of Sciences. She has been involved in work at Cern since her doctoral studies in the 1970s and has been the council’s Polish delegate since 2010.
