EUA finds developing nations are improving doctoral training

The number of doctoral qualifications awarded has risen across the globe in the last decade, with Brazil, China and India emerging as higher education “hubs of knowledge”, according to the European University Association.

A EUA survey of universities in four continents has concluded that doctoral education is becoming an increasingly important aspect of national research policies, and that many countries are investing heavily in graduate education to boost research capacity.
