European Patent Office has new vice president

The new vice president for the European Patent Office is Alberto Casado Cerviño, former director general of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office.

Cerviño is now in charge of the EPO’s directorate general operational support. Casado Cerviño’s has served in the EU’s Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market and EPO’s administrative council. He was appointed by the administrative council on 28 June and took office on 1 September.
