Final field tests success for Mars rover

European researchers have completed field tests of a space rover in Spain that is designed for use in a future European space mission to Mars.

The tests, which were done to assess the visual and navigational performance of the robot, are the final stage of the ProViScout project, which is shared between 12 European research institutions and robotics companies. The tests were completed at the El-Teide National Park in Tenerife.
