A solar-panel trade war between Germany and China is intensifying, with German chancellor Angela Merkel speaking out against the alleged dumping of Chinese products on the European market during a visit to China.
Germany is leading a group of European solar-panel manufacturers in a call for EU action to prevent the import of subsidised cheap solar panels from China. The German government says that China puts products on the market that are technically inferior but much cheaper than their EU-produced counterparts, thus posing a threat to European companies.
