The European Commission’s plans for the future of cloud computing do not go far enough, warns the European Economic and Social Committee. The Commission strategy aims for efficiency savings of €160 billion a year, but a 2012 survey from the Business Software Alliance shows less than a quarter of European businesses use the cloud, compared with 34 per cent globally.
