ESF winds down, as Science Europe cranks up

The European Science Foundation announced that it is taking steps to scale back its activities, as its one-year-old successor Science Europe increases its work on influencing EU research policy. The foundation, which represents national funding agencies, has agreed a plan for the next few years, during which it expects to lose some of its 78 member organisations, and may cease operations by the end of 2015.
