MEP criticises lack of transparency in Dalli case

German MEP Inge Gräßle has expressed her concern that the tobacco industry has refused to answer questions relating to the resignation of former health commissioner John Dalli, following his departure in October.

Gräßle, a member of the central-right European People’s Party, says the lack of transparency from the tobacco company involved, Swedish Match, is concerning given that the Dalli case “must have consequences for the future of lobbying in Brussels”.
