Industry commissioner Antonio Tajani has visited Chile to promote research co-operation agreements between the EU and the south American nation in areas including space, business and standardisation.
Tajani travelled to Chile on 25 January and discussed the implementation of deals signed in 2011 with Chilean ministers. These agreements indicated political intent but are not legally binding.
