Dieter Imboden, former president of Switzerland's National Science Foundation, was elected president of the governing board of the Austrian science fund (FWF).
Imboden stepped down from his role at the Swiss agency at the end of 2012 after eight years in office. He takes over from Wilhelm Krull.
