Research commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn officially opened the new office buildings at the EU Joint Research Centre’s Institute for Transuranium Elements in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 4 February.
The project is the first phase of a renovation of the infrastructure at the institute to mark its 50th anniversary. ITE provides scientific and technical support to the European Commission in the implementation of the Euratom treaty, signed by EU member states and associated countries.
