Pedro de Sampaio Nunes, former secretary of state for science and innovation of Portugal, is now director of Eureka's secretariat in Brussels.
De Sampaio Nunes trained as a civil engineer, and has also worked as director at the European Commission, where he was responsible for energy and IT research programmes. He is taking over from Eureka’s former director Luuk Borg, from the Netherlands, for a renewable four-year term.
