Just over 15 per cent of scientists selected by the European Research Council to receive its advanced grants are women, according to figures from its latest funding round announced on 22 January. This represents a consistent 3 per cent increase in the number of women successful year-on-year, compared to the previous selections in 2012 and 2011.
