Agricultural policy to incorporate research support

The EU’s next common agricultural policy, running from 2014 to 2020, should include “substantial” support for research to address farming challenges, according to Dacian Ciolos, commissioner for agriculture and rural development. Ciolos, who was speaking on 26 February at a French National Institute for Agricultural Research conference in Paris, didn’t say how much money would be allocated to research.
