An EU wide prohibition on the sale of cosmetics products that have been tested on animals entered into force on 11 March.
The Commission confirmed its agreement to the deadline set by the Council and Parliament in 2003 to stop using animals in testing the safety of cosmetic products and announced further support to studies on alternative methods.
