Danube scientists work on EU strategy for their region

Science organisations in the Danube region are discussing how they can contribute to the EU's overall Danube strategy this week.

The European Commission launched the Danube strategy in December 2010 to define priorities for projects in Danube river region, including environmental protection, irrigation and agricultural development, navigability and energy production. The Commission’s Joint Research Centre is in charge of gathering scientific input to implement the plan.
