Heart group sets up shop
The European Society of Cardiology opened an office in Brussels on 27 February, calling it the European Heart Agency. ESC president Panos Vardas said that “we have come to Brussels to be more active in the decision-making process”. The society believes that the EU needs more public policies to help prevent cardiovascular disease, which “is the biggest killer in Europe, with a huge impact on the economy”.
